HIGHLANDER CENTER REBRAND

Branding | UX/UI | Motion

The Highlander Center is a historical organization that supports grassroots movements across the U.S., based in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains. The iconic institution is rich in history with historical figures including, Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King Jr., contributing to their early movements. At A–B, I had the opportunity to participate in a rebranding for the center.

Project Brief

Direction

The visual direction I was given was, “Dynamic Academia”. With that I wanted to create something that was bold, geometric, but still organic. I took inspiration from the center’s architecture. With its buildings of various shapes set in the mountains.

Logos

Primary Logo

Secondary Logo

Sub-Brand Logos

The primary logo is an abstract representation of the center in the mountains, compiling of three symbols the center’s primary building, the sun, and the mountains. Each symbol corresponds to one of the programs they offer through the center, the Academy, Generations, and Movements programs.
